Still one of Singapore's most distinctive free family spaces because the play is embedded in a genuine garden rather than a stand-alone playground. The current Tree House closure is important to know before visiting, but there is plenty else to do.

What to expect
Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden is a four-hectare children’s garden within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, built around nature learning and exploration. Its zones include hands-on gardens, streams and interactive play.
The Waterplay reopened in 2025 with a larger 500 sqm area featuring mist, wading pools, jets, umbrella fountains and a splash bucket. NParks currently notes that the Tree House is closed because of termite damage, with a replacement targeted around end-2027.

Outdoor play is weather-dependent. Cooler morning or late-afternoon visits are usually more comfortable, and play should stop during thunderstorms
