Editorial Policy

Our editorial standard is simple: readers should be able to tell who created a page, how it was checked and which claims come from first-hand experience.

Evidence labels

Personally visited is reserved for genuine editorial visits. Editor researched means substantive desk research using identified sources. Verified means key practical facts have been checked. Community mapped identifies a real place that still needs fuller research.

Accuracy and sourcing

For opening hours, prices, age restrictions, closures and facilities, we prefer official operators, NParks and other primary or authoritative sources. OpenStreetMap and community submissions can help identify smaller places, but important facts are checked against stronger sources where available. Source notes explain what a source supports rather than simply listing links.

First-hand experience

We do not convert desk research into first-person observations. Visit dates, actual visit length, supervision notes, what surprised us and similar fields are published only when someone from the editorial team has actually visited.

Editorial judgement

Our verdict is separate from operator information, user votes, parent reviews and advertisements. We consider practical factors such as age fit, play variety, supervision, shade and weather, facilities, accessibility, value, transport and how long a place is likely to hold a child’s attention. A venue can be useful without being worth travelling across Singapore for.

Editorial tools and AI

We may use software and AI-assisted tools to organise research, identify missing fields, structure data or help draft material. Practical facts are checked against identified sources by the editorial team before publication. We do not use automated tools to fabricate first-hand visits, parent experiences, quotations, credentials or test results.

Commercial independence

Advertising, affiliate links, featured placements, complimentary admission and work undertaken by The Tofu Media Group do not buy a better editorial verdict or higher community ranking. Material commercial relationships should be disclosed where relevant.

Updates and corrections

Playgrounds change, businesses close and prices move. Listings can show separate dates for hours, prices and facilities, plus a visible update history where a material correction has been made. Readers can report corrections from every listing.
