Editor’s verdict
Jalan Pari Dedap Playground has a slightly more nostalgic feel than many newer neighbourhood playgrounds, largely because of its old-school sand play area. It is the kind of place that works particularly well for younger children who are happy digging, building sandcastles and making their own games rather than moving between elaborate play structures.
The setting is quiet and residential, with the playground tucked between Jalan Pari Dedap, Jalan Pari Unak and Peakville Walk. That makes it feel more like a local community green than a destination playground, and parents living nearby will probably get the most value from it. There is enough space for a short outdoor play session, but families travelling across Singapore specifically for a large or adventurous playground may find it too simple.
What we like most is that the sand play gives children something a little different from the standard slide-and-climbing-frame formula. It is also open 24 hours, so it works well for an early-morning or evening visit when the weather is cooler.
Best bitThe old-school sand play area, which encourages more open-ended play
Keep in mindLimited equipment for older children or those looking for more adventurous play
