Editor’s verdict
Mera Terrace Playground is a small neighbourhood spot that works best for families living around Upper Changi and the surrounding landed estates. NParks lists it as a 24-hour playground along Seagull Avenue, with both a children’s play area and a dog run, so it has a slightly broader community feel than a basic standalone playground.
The setting appears to be sunny and fairly open, with a nearby shaded gazebo, which makes it better suited to shorter play sessions than long midday visits in hot weather. PlaySG currently classifies it as a Tampines-area playground with structural shelter nearby, although it also cautions that photo-based classifications may not always be perfect.
What we like most is the convenience. There is a bus stop right by the playground, and Upper Changi and Simei MRT stations are the nearest rail options according to nearby local information. It is not the kind of playground we would make a special cross-island trip for, but for nearby families, it is a useful everyday option for a quick after-school or evening play.
Best bitEasy neighbourhood access, plus a dog run for families with pets
Keep in mindLimited appeal compared with larger destination playgrounds, especially in the heat
